Average Joe's Apartment Locating ("we," "us") helps renters find apartments in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Information you give us: when you submit our preference form or contact us, we collect your name, phone number, email, and your apartment preferences (desired area, budget, move-in timeline, bedrooms, amenities, and any notes you add).
- Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited. Saved-listing selections are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted to us.
How we use it
- To contact you about your apartment search and send you curated apartment shortlists — this is the entire point of the service.
- To register you as our referral with apartment communities you choose to tour or lease at, which is required for locator services and rebate eligibility.
- To administer your rebate after move-in.
What we don't do
- We never sell your personal information.
- We don't share your contact details with apartment communities you haven't chosen to pursue.
- We don't send spam — you'll hear from us about your search and your rebate, not marketing blasts.
Sharing
We share your information only: (1) with apartment communities where you've asked to tour or apply, so your referral and rebate are honored; (2) with service providers who help us operate (e.g., hosting), bound to use it only on our behalf; and (3) if required by law.
Listing data
Apartment listing details shown on this site (pricing, availability, photos) are collected from public sources for informational purposes and refreshed regularly. Always confirm current pricing and availability with us before making decisions.
Retention & your choices
We keep your inquiry information for as long as needed to assist your search and administer rebates. You can ask us at any time to update or delete your information, or to stop contacting you — email joe@averagejoeslocating.com or call (214) 966-9418 and we'll take care of it.
Children
Our services are intended for adults entering into apartment leases. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
