Frisco vs. Plano: which suburb fits your move?

7 min read · Average Joe's Apartment Locating

These are the two suburbs renters ask us about most, and for good reason: both sit on the Dallas North Tollway corridor, both have excellent schools and huge employers nearby, and both have deep apartment inventory. They also feel noticeably different once you actually live there. Here's the honest comparison we walk clients through.

Honest locator note: on identical budgets, we can usually get you newer in Frisco or bigger in Plano. Neither is wrong — it's about which trade-off matches your life. And the specials change weekly, which can flip the math between two specific communities overnight.

Don't sleep on the neighbors

If you're torn, the corridor between them often solves it: McKinney (just northeast, better prices, fast-growing), Allen (between the two, great schools), and The Colony/Little Elm (lakeside, value plays minutes from Frisco). We routinely send shortlists that mix two or three of these cities so you can compare real units, not reputations.

Torn between them? Tell Joe your commute, budget, and must-haves — he'll send a side-by-side shortlist across both suburbs within 24 hours.
